Signing in and choosing a password

The first time

You do not choose a password when your account is made. You get an email with a button, and the button takes you to a page where you choose one.

1. 1Open the email called Finish setting up your account. Check your spam folder if you cannot see it.
2. 2Press Choose a password.
3. 3Type a password of at least 8 characters, then type it again.
4. 4Press Continue. You are signed in.

Every time after that

1. 1Go to your institution's own address. If you do not know it, go to the main site and find your institution in the list.
2. 2Press Sign in.
3. 3Type your email, press Sign in, then type your password.

If you forget your password

1. 1On the sign-in page, type your email and go to the password step.
2. 2Press Forgot your password?
3. 3Open the email called Choose a new password and press the button in it.

Things that go wrong

• The link in an email works once. If you have used it, ask for a new one with Forgot your password?
• A link stops working after a while. The email says how long it lasts.
• Five wrong passwords lock the account for a few minutes. Wait, then try again or choose a new password.
